JOIN THE FABSCRAP TEAM
PART-TIME VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR - BROOKLYN, NY
ABOUT THE POSITION
FABSCRAP is a start-up nonprofit rethinking textile waste in the fashion, interior design, and entertainment industries in Philadelphia and NYC. We provide convenient pickup of unwanted fabric and actively engage the local creative community in reuse.
FABSCRAP Volunteer Coordinators host volunteers and community partners. You will be responsible for all volunteer activities, maintaining our fabric sorting stations, assisting with warehouse sorting events and outreach, and most importantly, sharing our mission from our Brooklyn location!
We are a very small team and everyone contributes beyond their core responsibilities. Teamwork and initiative are a must! Because of the start-up nature of our work, things move quickly, and you’ll have real ownership to define and refine procedures. We are excited for someone to be creative in this role and grow with us.

E) Mission-Focus
A successful Volunteer Coordinator will make sure every visitor to our warehouse, but particularly our volunteers and our community partners, understand the details of our mission, our impact, our system, our locations, our events, and how to access fabric. Everyone should feel important for their contribution to our industry-changing work, so much so that they feel informed and empowered to share their experience with others!
F) Teamwork-Focus
