There are 4 different ways you can receive fabric from us:
1) VOLUNTEER for free fabric: If you volunteer at FABSCRAP helping to sort incoming fabric, you can keep 5lbs of material for free after your shift (leather and fur are excluded but available at deeply discounted prices).
2) VISIT us to shop: If you don't have time to volunteer, you are still more than welcome to walk in and shop any time during our regular hours. Our fabric is priced at $5/pound ($3/pound for students), and leather and fur is priced as tagged.
3) SHOP ONLINE: Not able to come see us in person? We also have some fabric available online. This includes yardage, trims, and leather as well as "scrap packs" which are smaller pieces in a variety of fabrics, organized by color.
4) Attend an EVENT or POP-UP: We have fabric Pop-Up Shops scheduled every month around NYC!
We choose material for our store based on the size (at least 1 yard) and/or because it is notably unique. The constant stream of new incoming fabrics means our inventory is constantly changing. Like thrifting, it may take some time to find what you're looking for.
We always have a great variety of: cotton, linen, silk, wool, synthetics, upholstery fabrics, leather (real and faux), denim, lace, buttons, zippers, cones of yarn, etc. To get an idea of the type and quality of fabrics available, check out our sources: Who's FAB.
