FABSCRAP extends the life of fabrics recovered from your favorite brands

THE GOODS

SELECTION

We always have a great variety of:

  • FIBERS: cotton, linen, silk, wool, synthetics
  • WEIGHTS: apparel and upholstery fabrics
  • SPECIALTY FABRICS: leather (real and faux), denim, jersey, muslin, chiffon
  • TRIM: buttons, ribbons, lace, zippers
  • OTHER: cones of yarn

To get an idea of the type and quality of fabrics available, check out our sources: Who's FAB.

STOCK

We pick up roughly 2,000 lbs of material from fashion businesses in NYC each week, and 40% of the fabric we receive is determined eligible for reuse and added to our shelves.

We choose material to keep based on the size (at least 1 yard) and/or because it is notably unique.

The constant stream of new incoming fabrics means our inventory is constantly changing. Like thrifting, it may take some time to find what you're looking for.

LOCATION

Shopping at the warehouse is BY APPOINTMENT ONLY. The FABSCRAP warehouse is located in Jamaica, Queens, about 1.25 hours from Manhattan when using public transit (though parking is available if you choose to drive).

HOURS: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday:  9am - 4pm.

For those outside the NYC area, select yardage and Scrap Packs of small pieces of stretch fabric by color are also sold online through our partner, Queen of Raw.

PRICE

We sell all material at $5 per pound.

We offer a student rate (with ID) of $3 per pound.

Volunteers receive 5 pounds of FREE fabric.

We accept cash, check, and credit card.

FABSCRAP loves to support fellow nonprofit organizations and charitable projects, so we will offer further discounted or free fabric wherever possible.
